Planning a Tech Round Table on the YWAM Podcast
The use of technology in our mission is growing. As we look at how we can best make use of technology in YWAM we all bring our own strengths and experiences. This site is one way that we can discuss and share what we have learned, but I want to try to expand this discussion ...
Next week I would like to include a 15-minute tech round table on the YWAM Podcast, ywampodcast.com. I would love to include some of the people who contribute to this site as I believe that you are not only experienced in using technology in ministry, but also have proven willing to share what you know.
There are a few different topics that we would like to talk about:
- Security
- Providing Support
- Free and Open Source Solutions
- Need for Documentation
- Backups
- more...
We would be doing the conference call over Skype. I will have to limit the participation to three or four other participants to make sure we have a good discussion. It would be great to have a variety of participants, with varied backgrounds and points of view (as long as we can keep the discussion civil (lol)).
Let me know in the comments of this post if you would be interested in participating in the round table discussion.

Round Table Update
As you know, the tech round table has not yet materialised I'm sorry. I've been trying to resolve where / how this would best fit into the podcast, and also how to coordinate it.
I'm considering a revitalisation of the YWAM IT Podcast. Possibly as a monthly thing, but there is a lot to work out still. I will probably eventually include it on the YWAM Podcast Network at http://ywampodcast.net.

Has the round table happened yet? I'd love to listen to the podcast.
But I probably would have the time to participate. Even more so now that I nuked Skype off my computer.
