I think I vaguely remember when the service first started, but I did not pay much attention. Now I just read an article where Deutsche Telekom has made an investment in this company, so maybe there is something to it after all. I signed up but haven't really been able to test anything yet.

They are supposed to offer some competition with Skype, etc. Following is an excerpt from the news article I read:

"Jajah uses a novel approach. You type the number you want to call into your Web browser, and then Jajah calls you on your land line or cellphone. After you pick up, Jajah then calls the party you are trying to reach. It’s simple and it works, with sound quality that is reasonably good.

It is so simple that no downloaded software is required, as Skype does. It doesn’t require a piece of extra hardware (Vonage). There is no monthly charge to work with a standard telephone."

If you have tried this I would love to hear. (www.jajah.com)
